Screw Limit Plug Gauge

If a thread needs to be checked to ensure the quality of a part, the threaded hole is tested with a screw limit plug gauge.

The cylinder of the go-side shall be screwed into the thread without exerting force.
This is done over the complete length of the thread.
The no-go gauge of a screw limit plug gauge is marked with a red dot or a red stripe.
It shall be screwed into the thread as well without exerting force. During unscrewing, the number of turns are counted. If the number is higher than three, the thread is faulty.
The respective limit gauges can be found at each end of the screw limit plug gauge.

Secondary Injection Unit

A plug-on injection unit to an existing injection molding machine used for multicolor or multicomponent molding is called Secondary Injection Unit.
It is equipped with its own controller and is flexible in installation. It can be mounted on top or on non-operator side of a tool. The Secondary Injection Unit can inject into the parting line as cold runner system or into a hot runner system.

Semi-Crystalline

Thermoplastics which consist of approximately 80% of crystalline structures are called semi-crystalline materials.
Their structure is ordered with some disordered areas in between.
The ordered areas give the material strength and stiffness.
Due to the higher stiffness, the material will break rather than bend when a load is applied.
Typical examples of semi-crystalline polymers are PA, POM, PP and PE.

Set-up

An important part of a unit cost calculation is the process of setting up an injection mold.
Set-up is the preparation of the injection molding machine for the production of a specific molded part.
This includes setting up the molds, adjusting the machine parameters and checking the production processes.
The aim is to ensure smooth production. Efficient set-up is therefore crucial in order to maximize productivity and ensure the quality of the parts produced.
