Plug

In injection molds with conventional cooling, the cooling system is manufactured with as little as possible drill holes.
A change in direction is realized by intersecting drill holes.
These auxiliary holes need to be closed by a plug to avoid the coolant flowing out of the mold.
Additionally plugs need to be inserted to define a clear direction of the coolant stream.
This way the coolant can flow through a drill hole in multiple areas.
The plugs prevent the coolant to flow into uncertain directions and support with the enforced flow direction a good cooling system of the mold.

Plug Gauge

For testing boreholes and grooves use pluggauges. For flat test surfaces, special interfacial gauges are used.
There are different shaped measuring surfaces, such as cylinder, sphere, hexagon or square or threaded.
The minimum gauge is measured with the good side. For this, it must be pushed with slight pressure into the hole or groove, while the scrap side may only beak.
New pluggauges usually have a wear interference on the good side, which is why the printed value “0” does not match the actual value.
Example: The good side of a new pluggauge 8 H7 has a dimension of 8.0027 mm, but the tolerance is defined from 8.000 to 8.0129.
However, this wear interference can only be found on the good side.

POE

Networks for data transmission are present in every company and are used for communication between different end devices.
Especially in the environment of IoT, the existing data network receives an additional benefit through the use of PoE devices.
POE stands for Power over Ethernet. In addition to data transmission, the power supply of end devices is also realised by using an eight-core Ethernet cable. The power supply is provided by appropriate switches to which the end devices (e.g. infrared cameras) are directly connected via Ethernet.
The main advantage results from the elimination of a separate power supply for the respective end device and the thus reduced installation costs.
It should be noted that POE can usually only be used for network devices that require low power. These are e.g. IP telephones, small servers, cameras, etc.

PoE Switch

A network switch that combines the functions of a conventional switch with the option of supplying connected devices with power via the Ethernet cable is called a PoE switch.
PoE stands for Power-over-Ethernet. This technology enables data transmission and power supply to PoE-capable end devices, such as VoIP telephones and surveillance cameras, via the RJ45 network cable.
The advantages are the cost savings for the installation of power and network cables in locations without sockets, as well as the reliability due to a constant power supply (when using a UPS).
In addition, managed PoE switches offer the ability to remotely restart connected devices, reducing downtime.

PoE switches can typically deliver power from 15 watts (PoE) up to 90 watts (PoE++) per port. It is important to note that the actual power a switch can deliver depends on several factors, including the number of PoE devices connected and the overall capacity of the switch. It is advisable to check the specifications of the PoE switch in question to determine the exact power per port.

Point Cloud

Geometry data is delivered as points in a cartesian coordinate system after a 2D-/3D-surface scan or a CT analysis of a part.
The sum of all points is called point cloud.
On the base of the point cloud triangle elements will be created in order to visualize the skin of the scanned object.
A return of the data into a CAD model is possible based on a point cloud as well as on the base of the generated triangle element-mesh.
It has to be noted, that the quality of the CAD surfaces show imurities.
