In the plastic industry, different materials (components) are used frequently to create parts with more functionality.
For example:
Components with a different material (e.g. metal) are inserted into the mold before injection molding.
This is done manually or with a robot.
It is important to hold the insert in the correct position until the plastic flows around and fixes the part.
The encapsulation allows a strong connection between insert and part, and both will be ejected as one.

An injection mold consists in general of two halves: injection side and ejection side.
The touching faces between these two halves are called parting line.
Through this, the air is transported from the cavity to the outside.
When the mold is opened, part and cold runner are separated from the mold at this line and ejected.
The parting line emerges in general as a surrounding seam on the part.

To connect two devices in a network in a flexible and removable way, a special cable is needed – the patch cable.
Patch cables are categorised into different classes for connection purposes.
Depending on the class, a patch cable has a different number of wires with different shieldings.
At least two of the wires are needed for sending the data and another two are needed for receiving the data.
Patch cables that have a higher quality feature up to eight lines.
In this way, they are more effectively shielded from electromagnetic interference.
The classes ( Quality Standards) are indicated as Cat.
Cat 3 10 MBit/s 16MHz
Cat 5 100 MBit/s 100MHz
Cat 5e 1 Gigabit/s 100MHz
FastCat5 5e 1 Gigabit/s 350MHz
Cat 6 1 Gigabit/s 250MHz
Cat 6a 10 Gigabit/s 500MHz
Cat 7 10 Gigabit/s 600MHz
Cat 7a 100 Gigabit/s 1000MHz

The lines for data transmission laid in a building are grouped together at central locations.
The cable ends are collected in a device like a distribution box – the so called patch panel.
The cables are connected on the back of the patch panel.
There are color-coded clamps into which cable ends of the Cat standard can usually be pressed in.
On the front side, there is a RJ45 socket for each of the data cables.
The RJ45 sockets are used to connect the incoming data cables to devices such as switches or other patch panels.
This makes it easy to create flexible assignments between end devices within networks.
Since patch panels are often installed in server racks, the size of the panels is usually specified in inches and HE.

The temperature in fluid, gas, powder or plastic is mostly measured with a penetration probe.
This is a thermocouple that consists normally of two wires out of different metals.
The temperature difference induces electrical voltage inside the metals (thermoelectric circuit) which can be calculated backwards to temperatures from the connected measuring device.
Dependent on the materials, the penetration probe can be used for different temperature ranges.
Penetration probes from type K (NiCr-Ni) can be used in a temperature range between -65 °C to 400 °C.
In the plastic industry, penetration probes are used to check the temperature of the melt that is injected directly out of the nozzle.
