On the grounds of the “Messe Friedrichshafen”, the Fakuma takes place for two consecutive years. In the year of the K-Show the trade show for plastic processing Fakuma is suspended.
Founded in 1981 the Fakuma counts as one of the most important trade fairs in Germany and gains as well international significance.
This can be seen in the steadily rising numbers of exhibitors and visitors.
Exhibitors from more than 40 countries world wide show what is new in all sectors of the plastic industry.
Organizer of the Fakuma is the company P.E. Schall GmbH & Co. KG, which through its vision and commitment has made the fair a leading trade fair for the plastic industry.

The front section of the plasticizing unit on an injection molding machine, where plastic granulate is fed into the screw, is called feeding zone.
In this zone, the material begins its journey along the screw flights and is transported forwards by their rotary motion. The main function of the feed zone is to evenly intake the granulate and ensure a continuous material flow. An optimized feed zone prevents air entrapment and ensures uniform melt preparation. The temperature in this area is usually lower than in the subsequent zones, as the material is not yet fully plasticized. Factors such as screw geometry, granulate size, and moisture content influence the efficiency of the feed zone. A well-functioning feed zone is essential for stable processing and high part quality.

This abbreviation refers to a numerical analysis technique (finite element method = FEM), which is used in product development.
It enables the simulation and analysis of complex structures and components by dividing them into smaller, more easily calculable elements.
By using FEM, engineers can predict the loads, stresses and deformations of molded parts in different environments and conditions.
This is critical for optimizing products and avoiding design errors.

To display the chronological history of the filling behavior of an injection molded part, the dosage volume is extended in the injection molding machine from shot to shot until the cavity is completely filled.
The different filling percentages explain, which area is filled at which time and give hints on the process and possible optimization.
All shots with different filling percentage collectively are called filling study.
In injection molding simulation the filling study is an inherent part of the displayed results.

Contamination (especially when using recyclates) can be removed from the plastic melt with the help of a filter nozzle.
This saves the often very complex cleaning of the following mold components.
Furthermore the plastic melt is homogenized by the filter nozzle.
This has highly positive effects for the distribution of additives and colorants.
The fitler nozzle is attached to the injection unit using a machine-dependent adapter.
The filter removes any contamination (e.g. metal or wood shavings, not melted material) from the plastic melt.
The filter nozzle is very flexible and can be used for almost every application, as well as for filled materials, due to the different filter fineness.
If the filter is contaminated, it can be flushed without disassembly by an automatic “flushing process”.
