Plastic granules are typically stored in small casks (bags), large casks (octabins) or in silos.
The smallest delivery unit is a bag. One bag typically comprises 25 kg of plastic material. In some cases bags with 20 kg are available as well.
The plastic granules from an unopened bag can usually be processed directly.
However, with prolonged interim storage of the material, it is imperative to dry it before processing.
Drying is mandatory especially when processing hygroscopic plastics.
