Plastic granules are typically stored in small casks (bags), large casks (octabins) or in silos.
The smallest delivery unit is a bag. One bag typically comprises 25 kg of plastic material. In some cases bags with 20 kg are available as well.
The plastic granules from an unopened bag can usually be processed directly.
However, with prolonged interim storage of the material, it is imperative to dry it before processing.
Drying is mandatory especially when processing hygroscopic plastics.

A body that is hit by radiation and absorbes it all, is called a black radiator.
This body has no losses due to reflection or transmission and emits the maximum possible energy in all directions equally.
For a defined waveband, the emitted radiation depends only on the temperature of the black radiator.
In reality one can not find a body that can emit 100% of a radiation.
The best possible reproduction is achieved with a cavity with matte black walls all having the same temperature.
A beam falling through a hole into the cavity is reflected and absorbed several times at the inner wall.
The radiation coming out of the hole corresponds to the temperature of the body.
This effect is used, e.g. in the calibration of IR measuring instruments.

The mixture of two or more polymers to create a new material with different physical properties is known as blend or polymer blend.
Polymer blending has drawn attention as an easy and cost-effective method of developing materials that have versatility for commercial applications.
The properties of the blends are manipulated according to their end use by correct selection of the component polymers.
Typical Blends are PC+ABS, PA6+PA66 and ABS+PA.
The picture is showing a blend with amorphous (green) and semi-crystalline (purple) components plus additional fillers (blue).

Volume meshes can be made out of different element types.
A lot of times pure hexahedron or tetrahedron are used.
The BLM-mesh is ideal for the exact display of the boundary area.
BLM stands for Boundary Layer Mesh.
The boundary layers are made out of prisms with triangular surface.
The inside is filled with tetrahedrons.
Especially in injection molding simulation, this mesh type is preferred.

BLM.

A motor-driven or manually driven unit which can move in more than two directions to deliver loads (horizontally or vertically) is referred to as a crane.
In terms of injection molding, the crane is usually mounted below the ceiling of the machine hall.
With the load hook of the crane, molds are transported from the provisioning area to the injection molding machine.
The use of the crane facilitates the set-up process by direct and safe positioning of the mold between the clamping plates of the injection molding machine.
